Question by a woman: Question about thrush infection and symptoms?
my pap smear test came back clear except that it identified that I have thrush. The thing is I havn’t noticed any symptoms apart from a bit of a smell recently. When my doctor was taking the test, it hurt me and she told me my cervix was inflamed. This seems to have caused the discomfort. I thought that with thrush, there was always an itch? Does anyone have any knowledge of this?

Question by j: What are the symptoms of Thrush? Can you only have it in one breast?
My right nipple is sore, and bright red, it also pokes out A LOT. I’ve had some shooting and dull pains in it as well.
My left nipple goes flat except when she is nursing, she has a hard time latching on at times, but it doesn’t ever hurt like the right one does.
My daughter is 4 weeks. My nipples were both cracked, and the right one actually bled, at first, but after using Lanolin cream and a nipple shield it healed, so I stopped using it.

Causes
Many microorganisms live in the mouth, including yeast and bacteria. Thrush occurs when the normal balance of these organisms is upset. This allows an overgrowth of Candida (a form of yeast) to occur.

What you will find is other than the genitalia area male thrush symptoms and thrush symptoms in women are pretty much the same and many people feel is one of the more common types of yeast infection or form of candidiasis we are dealing with today .

Yeast infections target the skin or mucous-like membrane, and is caused in the body by a fungi called Candida. In the laboratory cultures it appears as large, white round colonies, cream color or a whitish-gray. One of the best know species is called Candida albicans, just to keep the record strait Candida albicans is not the only culprit that can cause a yeast infections in us.
Candida albicans exist with other flora in our bodies, its growth is kept in place by other bacteria. It likes to reside in the dark, warm, wet areas of our body. This is the reason yeast infections are normally found in our body areas like our ears, mouth, blood, gastrointestinal or “gut” area as well as the genitalia. . . . → Read More: Male Thrush Symptoms

Are You Suffering Thrush Symptoms?
Thrush is an infection, caused by a fungus called Candida. Basically, it is yeast and it thrives in warm and moist conditions. Usually it lives on the skin, in the vagina, in the gut or the mouth without doing harm. The immune system and healthy bacteria usually keep it under control. However, sometimes the conditions change, and this allows the yeast to overgrow, thus causing thrush. Here are some of the typical symptoms of thrush.
Thrush infections are typically more common in women than men. Symptoms of thrush in women include pain when urinating, pain during intercourse, and thick white discharge from the vagina that smells yeasty and looks of cottage cheese and itching, soreness and redness around the vagina, vulva or anus.

Question by sarah: I keep getting thrush symptoms but the swabs always come up negative?
I am always getting the symptoms of thrush eg. itchiness and quite smelly but everytime i go to the doctors they swab me and it always comes up normal, i have been to see the gynocologyst who was useless and sent me away with some showergel to try which hasn’t helped. Any ideas what it could be?

Answer by kendra23ukHi there I have the same thing..from research and hearing about other girls probs I think It may be Bacterial Vaginosis.
Alot of girls go to their GP with thrush and it “gets treated” but really it doesn’t…I have my sympoms for a year and only getting myself sorted now cos I moved docs.
I would say go back to your gp or see another one if you can at your Gp’s Practice and say you have done some research and your symptoms are NOT going away and therefore your NOT going to go away and you want to be checked for BV.
You shouldn’t have to put up with that.
Hope that helps!
