Question by Robyn: Women’s problems in Japan, candida (thrush) treatments over the counter?
I got my J.hubby to ask in a drugstore this morning, but they said you can only buy the creams and not the pessaries. I need the pessaries or it’ll just come back in a couple months, so was the sales assistant correct or should I look in a different drugstore? If there are over the counter pessaries available can you tell me the name please?
Thanks for any help, and if anyone doesn’t know what a pessary is for then maybe this isn’t your lucky 10 point question!
No of course I don’t mean contraceptives. That would have nothing to do with candida which is a fungus infection.

If this study/research is referring to Candida that is treated with antibiotics, I could see why. Antibiotics kill off the good bacteria as well as the bad bacteria and growths, so some doctors that don’t really understand it enough may prescribe an antibiotic or antifungal for Candida which just won’t help enough and may do more harm.
On the flip side, Probiotics are the good bacteria that helps to defend against bad bacteria and growths (including Candida), so people that take Probiotics on a regular basis to fight Candida hardly ever have relapses… maybe it was a 95% success rate on what you read.
