Question by Alli R: please someone give me some advice or info.. candida confusion thanks?
Hello can anyone give me any advice or information?I wil try to explain..
I am 21,and when I was 15 my dad died suddenly. It was a huge shock.I began binge eating becase I was depressed, mainly on sugary food, and also had the depo provera contraception for 9 months.Around this time, I began feeling very..down and spaced out and sickly.I couldnt concentrate and everthing felt a dreamlike state. To cut a long story short, 4 years later I feel worse and worse. So so tired, overweight, spotty, spaced out, pressure on my head and sickly, almost flu like.
I went to a alternative medicine clinic and they said it was a CANDIDA OVERGROWTH and, suggested a strict diect that also ruled out certain intolerances they say I have eg wheat. Anyway it is 100 pound a month for the treatment and I dont know what to do. I tried to commit suicide last month coz i cant bare to be so ill and my dr wont listen,it is so bad.
The internet forums recommend REALLY strict diets that I feel are impossible..
is it possible to get rid of this candida (Does this sound like it is my problem) . . . → Read More: please someone give me some advice or info.. candida confusion thanks?

Question by Summer23: I need help finding some info on Candida overgrowth?
I am looking for a good site that outlines good and bad foods for yeast overgrowth- not for a certain part of the body but for the whole system. If someone could find a site that has recipes as well I would be so thankful. I think my whole family needs to go on this diet, we all have a majority of these symptoms. I am having a hard time finding a decent site- most of them are trying to sell a book .

Question by ohyeah: What are some good recipes if I’m on the Candida diet?
The recipes can’t have any
-sugar or anything with sugar in it for that matter
-yeast
(this would include milk because it has sugar in it. same goes for other foods. if it has sugar in it, don’t include it)
Thanks for your help everyone!!!
Best answer:
Answer by StephanieYou can make most recipes with Xylitol or stevia substituted inplace of sugar. Look for recipes containing those products. You can find them at health food stores.

Question by R.: Had Yeast Infection Symptoms, treated with 1-day OTC treatment, still have some symptoms- what should I do?
I first had symptoms of a yeast infection about a week ago, itching and soreness in labia and vaginal area, clear discharge. I treated it with the drug store brand,1-day, over-the-counter yeast infection treatment (tioconazole). The symptoms got better at first, and I no longer have any discharge, but I am now having much more intense soreness and itching of the labia and vaginal opening. I’m very red and swollen down there. Should I treat with another over-the-counter medication (I’ve been reading that the 1 day treatment is not the best)? Is there something that it could be that is not a yeast infection?

Question by fancypantsy: Why do some doctors acknowledge candida risk after antibiotics, and some do not?why the controversy?
I took Doxyclycline last yr.~actually OVER a yr now to combat Lyme disease {only 3-5 wks. after getting bitten}. I am pretty confident I must’ve gotten all of it out of my system. ANd was on Doxy for 3 wks.
THE PROBLEM IS—— for the PAST YEAR on and off, IF I start eating refined sugar again I start getting sick w/ burning eyes, brain fog, strange stomach pains, light fever, vaginal pain, light headaches.
IT IS RIDICULOUS!!!!!!!! Then I go back COMPLETELY on no carb, no sweets {it DOESN’T take much! I am not a “big sweet eater actually” lol! It really takes very little, like a piece of candy here and there,then BOOM! I am back at square one again.}
So went to a diff doctor last wk. He thinks I do not have Lyme anymore coz I caught it so early and am in no pain at all, –all except for the above symptoms, He said {as I read via net all over the place} that FIGHTING OF CANDIDA after the use of antibiotics –many doctors DO NOT Even acknowledge Candida taken place after . . . → Read More: Why do some doctors acknowledge candida risk after antibiotics, and some do not?why the controversy?

Question by CurlyShirley: I need some info on the anti -candida diet?
I have Seborheic Dermatitis and it peaks in the winter, I have decided that my diet has alot to do with it. I eat cheese at every meal, mushrooms five times a week, and I drink wine. I have decided to try the anti candida (low yeast) diet but it is very strict. Will I still see results if I eliminate these foods and still eat them occasionally? Or do I really have to go cold turkey?
Best answer:
Answer by JustinYou can tell both of the above answers are Yahoo! Answers bots because they go no where near answering the question, especially due to the fact this question is about reducing the likelihood of a yeast infection during the winter.
However, to answer the question!
I think you need to stay away from yeasty foods, however this is sort of impossible to stay away from 100%.
Just make sure you take a good pro-biotic and also eat lots of natural Yogurt (not the processed stuff that is full of sugar as yeast loves refined sugar).
What do you think? . . . → Read More: I need some info on the anti -candida diet?

Question by two_kee_kees: What are some other problems that might have the same symptoms as a yeast infection?
It seems like I always get yeast infections and I’m starting to wonder if it’s not actually yeast. My doc usually says it’s yeast, but I’ve never gotten a second opinion. Are there any other conditions, illnesses that might cause the same symptoms to occur as a yeast infection? I’ve been tested for STDs, so it’s not that. I’m just really frustrated with this and want this problem to go away! It’s hurting my relationship because I can never be intimate with my bf.
I eat yogurt every day, and use non scented hypoallergenic soaps.
I do not wear tight clothes, and I always wear cotton panties.
Best answer:
Answer by redpeach_miit is very possible that you just have chronic yeast infections, some people do. i don’t know if it really helps or not, but i heard that eating yogurt on a regular basis can help.
