Question by R.: Had Yeast Infection Symptoms, treated with 1-day OTC treatment, still have some symptoms- what should I do?
I first had symptoms of a yeast infection about a week ago, itching and soreness in labia and vaginal area, clear discharge. I treated it with the drug store brand,1-day, over-the-counter yeast infection treatment (tioconazole). The symptoms got better at first, and I no longer have any discharge, but I am now having much more intense soreness and itching of the labia and vaginal opening. I’m very red and swollen down there. Should I treat with another over-the-counter medication (I’ve been reading that the 1 day treatment is not the best)? Is there something that it could be that is not a yeast infection?

Question by bella log: should a naturalpathic be okay to take diflucan?
Diagnosed with candida overgrowth. Began treating with diet. Had to go to my pcp because I had a full blown outbreak (rash). Was prescribed fluconazole generic to diflucan. He prescribed 1 once a week tablet 150mg for 3wks. Called my naturalpathic explained what had happened and what his opinion was for taking Fluconazole. He agreed to take medication. First couple of days after I took the first dose my rash was completely gone. But I began getting side effects funny taste in mouth, severe leg and knee pain, sore throat etc. I looked up meds and came across a web page of patients and comment on the drug. It was scary. There has been cases people getting stevens johnson disease which if not treated correctly you can die. I can’t believe a naturalpathic would agree to a drug w/such severe side effects. You go to a naturalpathic for natural remedies not conventional meds that kill you. Want to hear from any natural pathics and any difucan sufferers. I hope my symptoms go away. . . . → Read More: should a naturalpathic be okay to take diflucan?

Question by Sonia L: What are symptoms of vaginal yeast infection? And should it be burning when I use Canesten?
My itching is mostly gone. I’ve used one vaginal tablet of Canesten. But I have little sores and a bump near the back i.e. near the anus.
This is my first time getting this and I really need some advice on what to do. How do I deal with the pain? It feels like I’ve got cuts down there, so I’m not even going to the bathroom because it may burn down there.

Answer by A1Hi,
Although I think the problem is ‘most-likely’ long and or short term allergic reactions to ‘something’ COMBINED WITH a weakened lymph liver kidney and immune systems – IF the following symptoms would ever occur – I think the worst it might possibly be is deadly bacterial meningitis.
The two quotes below are from: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bacterial_Meningitis
“IF a rash is present, it may indicate a particular cause of meningitis; for instance, meningitis caused by meningococcal bacteria may be accompanied by a characteristic rash.”
“The MOST common symptoms of meningitis are headache and neck stiffness associated with fever, confusion or altered consciousness, vomiting, and an inability to tolerate light (photophobia) . . . → Read More: What are symptoms of vaginal yeast infection? Answer by HerbieCandida is an infection with a kind of yeast, which is why you must avoid foods containing yeasts or sugars. I think you will find you can have as much rice as you want, and you can also buy rice crackers in supermarkets. Your local health food shop will be able to help with suggestions and may have booklets with information and suggesting suitable diets. You’ll also be able to find books on it on the web, which you can order on line or from your local bookshop.
If you don’t understand your specialist’s instructions try phoning to ask for more details. He wants you to be able to take his advice. There used to be a candida support group – try looking on the web to see . . . → Read More: What kind of diet should I have with candida?

Question by le machi: Should I stop my yeast infection treatment?
I used gyne-lotrimine 7 for 5 days, and I’ve been hearing various things about the applicator method and its safety during pregnancy. A dr. gave it to me, and the medication itself seems safe from what I’ve read about it, but not necessarily using an internal applicator.
Also, I just lost my mucus plug, so I’m a bit concerned about using it after that.
Is 5 days enough? I don’t want to have a yeast infection during labor, but I don’t want to take risks with this medication either.

Question by Shaila Cooke: What kind of yeast free recipes (Candida diet) should you consider?
Best answer:
Answer by Pocholo DeleonComing out with a yeast free recipe is not an easy thing, you have to know which foods contain yeast and which are not. There are even some fruits that you are not allowed to eat while you are on Candida diet. Before eating or purchasing anything, make it a habit to read the label to know the contents and ingredients because it may negate the purpose of your Candida diet.
