Question by need info!!: My baby has Thrush, after taking medication how long will he be in pain?
I have a son who is 3 weeks and 5 days. 2 days ago he was diagnosed with thrush, He had all the symptoms, white patches in mouth, fussy, specially during a feeding. He started the medication yesterday so all together he has had it 7 times. My question is how long does it take for my son to have relief he is still very fussy and is only drinking about an oz at feedings and screams until he falls asleep again.

Answer by Brandi HWhen my daughter had thrush it took about 3 days to go away, she wasn’t in any pain but just make sure you boil everything(pacifiers, bottles, nipples, etc.) for about 20 minutes.

I have done 3 days so far of water fasting in an effort to get rid of this. How long should this last?
I meant water fast as in a fast where I only drink water, not as in a fast where I do everything but drink water, sorry for the confusion!

That is not an effective treatment for candida.
Your time would have been better spent, doing a web-search for natural cures/treatments against candida.
Drinking water helps people to flush out waste, and toxins out of the body.
Not drinking water for 3 days will only get YOU dehydrated!
Whoever suggested that you do that, was/is an idiot.
Sorry for not realizing that. But on this board, all kinds of crazy things show up, so we start expecting to read the un-thinkable.

I noticed this morning that our baby who just turned 9 months old has white patches in her mouth. When I got home…I nursed her and after she fell asleep, I was able to get a good look. Then I looked up thrush online. It looks like what she has.
What is the treatment most doctors use if it is thrush? I will call tomorrow morning. She is also cutting 2 teeth.
Also, what causes it? I breastfed our son, and he never had thrush.

So I have a yeast infection . The doctor gave me an anti fungal cream … the cream comes with 7 applicators . Does that means I have to use it 7 times ( 1 week ) and then stop ? Or do I have to end the tube ? which probably means having to re-use the applicator… (I don’t want to though , It’s kinda disgusting using the same applicators over again) But anyways… for how long should I use it ?

I’d like to try taking it for my hyperandrogenism and PCOS. I’ve taken it for candida before and didn’t have any negative side effects. I’ve read some studies that claim it to be a very effective treatment, but I’m concerned about the possible liver damage. Can you just take it as long as your liver is still functioning well or is there an estimated cut off?

Of course you need to discuss this with your doctor, I don’t think you will need so high dose. Also, once the effect is established, the dose may be tapered off to lowest limit.
It just occurred to me. can it be a trial as alternating between ketoconazole and metformin?
