RESISTANT STRAIN OF CANDIDA ALBICANS CAUSING PERSISTENT VAGINAL THRUSH or DO I HAVE VULVODYNIA? PLEASE HELP!!!?

Question by laura: RESISTANT STRAIN OF CANDIDA ALBICANS CAUSING PERSISTENT VAGINAL THRUSH or DO I HAVE VULVODYNIA? PLEASE HELP!!!?
20 year old female, chronic thrush sufferer.
MARRIED, tend to develop thrush symtoms day after intercourse.

became very noticible when bouts of thrush became more intense and more frequent.

It began from a thrush infection, petri dish results came back from the lab specifying that i had a “heavy overgrowth of candida albicans”, this was almost 3 weeks ago.

For many years from ages 14-till now (20) i have suffered from reoccuernt bouts of thrush, usually minor enough to be treated by 6 day course of canesten cream and which always clears up after treatment.

I was just routinely tested for clamidyia, herpes virus 1 and 2, hiv, bacterial vaginosis, uti (urinary tract in fection) and they all came back negative. (A HEAVY OVERGROWTH OF CANDIDA ALBICANS) was THE CULPRIT.

i dont smoke or drink, am not on the pill, i dont have diabetes but i do suffer from stress and anxiety and hypoglycemia as well as love my chocolate and coffee a little too much.

i wear cotton undies, dont wash my vagina with anything other than water, i both eat yoghurt and apply it topically. . . . → Read More: RESISTANT STRAIN OF CANDIDA ALBICANS CAUSING PERSISTENT VAGINAL THRUSH or DO I HAVE VULVODYNIA? PLEASE HELP!!!?

yeast infection -Candida, help please !

Question by DeadRose: yeast infection -Candida, help please !
i have yeast infection, again. its my third time in my life and the second time in this year. i had it about two months ago. i haven`t seen a doc yet because i am sure its Candida. i have a serious relationship and he has absolutely nothing. my questions are : is the cream enough or should i complete the treatment with antibiotics? Are my infections too often? should i be alarmed? could the infection be caused by the water in pools? i was at a public pool a week ago and i want to know if public pools are dangerous. Is it possible that my bf has the infection too even if he does not have any symptoms at all?
please help, thanks.

Answer by amandaxxxbethI am not sure on what Candida is, did you mean chlamydia? Wow I wish I could spell. Guys sometimes have years infections and don’t show any symptoms. I used to get them from my ex all the time. I was shocked when we broke up cuz they stopped. Use the cream and also get an anti-biotic. 11 Tips And Tricks To Help You Cure Your Yeast Infection Naturally – How To Get Rid Of A Yeast Infection That Is Chronic And Recurring

A yeast infection, also known as a Candida overgrowth, is not an STD. The condition of Candidiasis is caused by Candid albicans, a single-celed fungus. It is always present in the genital and intestinal tracts. If it is in disproportionate quantities, however, it can cause infection. Diaper rash, vaginitis, and thrush are some of the possible manifestations of candida infection.

Because candida can affect various parts of the body–the most common being the mouth, ears, nose, toenails, fingernails, gastrointestinal tract, and vagina–it can be characterized by a wide array of symptoms. These include constipation, diarrhea, coitis, abdominal pain, headaches, bad breath, rectal itching, impotence, memory loss, mood swings, prostatitis, canker sores, extreme fatigue, vaginitis, PMS, kidney and badder infections, arthritis, depression, hypothyroidism, adrenal problems, hyperactivity, and even diabetes.

Yeasts, incuding candida, feed on sugar. If the body’s pH balance is upset for any reason, the friendly bacteria (such as lactobacilli ) that normally metabolize sugars cannot thrive and do their job properly. Some women find they suffer more yeast infections when using oral contraceptives or during pregnancy. No remedy for yeast infection to be found. Please help!?

Question by STILL standing: No remedy for yeast infection to be found. Please help!?
My mother and my brother have yeast infections, my brother’s is moderate, my mother’s is severe, and it is genetic, since my grandparents on my mother’s side both had it severe as well.

My mother has tried everything for almost a decade now, but nothing has worked at all, and I mean NOTHING, not OTC drugs, not Acidophilus yogurt or pills, not creams, not even all of the general precautions for people with yeast infections.

They both have the Candida Albicans yeast strain, and my mother’s case is extremely rare, because she is allergic to all antibiotics and can’t take any natural or manmade drugs or ointments because EVERYTHING burns her in her women’s area.

My brother has it in his eye so bad that he can’t focus at all sometimes and no drugs have helped him either.

Any help will be appreciated, but info from people who had or still have this problem and defeated it with a non-standard method would be best.

Thanks in advance for any help!

Answer by GheeI’m gonna assume your are British – and you are referring to a vaginal yeast infection – We do not call it “Thrush” in the States. Yes – you do need medication – you can get OTC meds like Monistat. Use as directed – and hopefully that will cure it – if it reoccurs – see your Dr.for something stronger. Yeast Infections have several possible causes – all of which result in the change of the Ph of the vaginal secretions. This (usually Alkaline) Ph offers a wonderful breeding ground for bacteria. Changes in Ph occur when something gets “off” in the body (not just the vagina) -like too much sweets or alcohol (colas, candy, etc), stress, not enough water (dehydration), antibiotics (which “kill” the good bacteria) – . . . → Read More: thrush treatment…please help…?

Yeast Infection Symptoms-Knowing What They Are Can Help Prevent Yeast Infections

Yeast Infection Symptoms-Knowing What They Are Can Help Prevent Yeast Infections

The most common factor which triggers yeast infection symptoms is a weak immune system. The question you should now be asking is, what causes the immune system to become weak? Read on and discover what causes our bodies to become weak making it a very likely host to bad bacterium and fungal infections.

But first, lets go through some of the most common symptoms associated with yeast infection.

Female yeast infection symptoms include: a white or yellow vaginal discharge which looks like cottage cheese and has a very slight smell of yeast, persistent vaginal itching and irritation, redness and rawness of the vagina and vulva, discomfort during sexual intercourse and a burning sensation when urinating. It is important to mention at this stage that a fishy odour is associated with Bacterial Vaginosis, another type vaginal infection and it is not a symptom of a yeast infection.

Male yeast infection symptoms include a white discharge, red and patchy sores on the head of the penis along with itching and burning.

Yeast also known as Candida naturally resides in all our bodies but yeast can overgrow and can lead to an infection due to the inability of . . . → Read More: Yeast Infection Symptoms-Knowing What They Are Can Help Prevent Yeast Infections

I am embarrassingly gassy, I need help!?

Question by Cassie: I am embarrassingly gassy, I need help!?
What can I do about this? I let out farts sometimes with every step I take. It happens all the time and I can’t stop it, I’m just constantly farting and letting one rip. No smell or anything (TG), but still, how can one have a life when you can’t hold them in?

I don’t know what to try. I’ve tried all the OTC remedies, nothing works. I eat acidophilus all the time, yogurt. I don’t know what’s causing it and I can’t seem to be able to stop it.

I was thinking I might have a candida overgrowth? Just a guess but I have no answers.

Anyone know any surefire gas-killers?
sorry, not sure why this showed up in the Diabetes section, it wasn’t meant to (I don’t have diabetes).

Best answer:

Answer by jheysoda2007The only thing I can tell u is to cut out the foods that cause the most gas…or cut down. But maybe you should see an gastrointernologist just to make sure nothing else is going on. Hope this helps and good luck!

yeast infection symptoms, negative on test, help?

Question by strawberry.sparkles: yeast infection symptoms, negative on test, help?
the last time i was sexually active was three days ago. i was much drier than usual and it really hurt. yesterday i woke up with raging yeast infection symptoms so i went to the dr where i was prescribed diflucan. today the yeast test came back negative, so im getting tested for other things tomorrow.
my discharge is white and cottage cheese textured, and doesnt smell bad. my labia are really itchy and burny and swollen, as is my clitoris. typical yeast infection symptoms- but a negative on the test??
so my questions are: how long does diflucan take to help? is it possible to get a false negative on a yeast infection pee test? could this be anything else?

Best answer:

Answer by oceanlady580i wold have to say you still have a yeast infection you may need something stronger than diflican even tho thats what i use cause its only 1 pill and thats it you should try the monistat 3 pack you use the ovals for 3 days and there is external cream for the itching and other symptoms that go along with yeast infections feel better soon
