oh my god! I can not believe these answers!

YOur child has no siliva to wash his mouth out. It is not likely thrush but if you are worried then please see the doctor. You could have thrush with out symptoms. It can be painful but usually is just a pain in the butt. My DD and I both had it and it has nothing to do with 'washing your breast' after feedings or anything else like that. Water isn't necessary-

I suffered through 5 boughts of thrush. sucks but you can get over it!

check out a couple of web sites... kellymom.com and maybe webmd. if you are still concerned then call the doc!

Dear Sarah,
I clearly know what you ask. I have a 7 months old son and we used to have the same problem. The whiteness on the tongue can hardly be lefttover milk. Does he cry while you are nursing him? Babies with oral thrush usually have difficultu in swallowing so they cry. If so this means he has thrush on the tongue. Well what our doctor advised is that you put some carbonate in some water, stir it and apply this mixture on babie's tongew with a clean piece of cloth twice or three times a day.

No, "Leaky Gut Syndrome" is naturopathic nonsense. Adrenal fatigue is another fictitious disease. Many people confuse adrenal fatigue with Addison's disease, which is an actual medical condition where you do not make enough cortisol, etc in your adrenal glands. This can only be diagnosed by your Doctor and various tests are needed to diagnose Addisions disease. Fulll body candida is BS too. Now it is possible to have a full body fungal infection, but you'd be in ICU, very poorly!

Here, I found a naturopathic style response to "leaky gut syndrome";

"The main way to deal with Leaky Gut Syndrome is through nutrition. It is important to get the body back to optimum health and avoid the foods or toxins that are causing allergic reactions, so that the damaged villi in the intestine have a chance to heal and so that your liver has the time and energy to detoxify your body. There is no wonder drug to cure a leaky gut. Dealing with Leaky Gut Syndrome is about dealing with the causes of the condition as opposed to symptom care. " (!!)
http://www.leakygut.co.uk/Treatments%20f…

"toxins" "energy" "nutrition" "detoxify your body" are your alarm bells ringing yet? Wow it's the full woo woo meal deal. The condition is nonsense and the remedy is a quack one!

The Alties have a long history of inventing conditions so you will buy their liver cleanses, detoxes and spend time trying weird diets. Also they love to tell you that your Doctor "missed it".

Popular 'diagnoses' advanced by the alties (who have NO medical allergy training) include leaky gut syndrome, chronic candidiasis, histaminosis and intestinal dysbiosis. None of these scientifically unsupported conditions has any link to allergic disorders. They are trying to convince you that you have a problem (based on no good evidence), when in all honestly, there is probably nothing wrong with you or you have IBS or some other problem. See your GP to exclude pathology please, I think you've been scammed.

I just received an article from the heirs of Dr John Christopher on a 20 day program on this I was thinking of trying as my doctor (an allopath) wanted to put me on some prescription for candida that took a year but I never did.

here is the article. Be sure to use organic bulk herbs for best results when making the teas and I would use organic herbs and make my own digestive formula rather than use their herb formula as it is no longer organic. email me if you want more info on how to make it and such.

here is the article though

http://articles.herballegacy.com/

I have heard that people who became vegans had their leaky gut reversed. I heard it has something to do with meat particles leaking through and causing problems.

I also saw in the article that when antibiotics wipeout all the bacteria, it is NOT easily built back up (the good bacteria that keeps the yeast in check before the antibiotics kill it by acidophilus and yogurt one is told they can build this loss back up but the artile says that is not true)

If this is true the candida may be out of control for years and also it feeds on sugars and carbs which most people eat.

Dr Gabriel Cousens phase one diet in the book rainbow green live food cuisine is supposed to help reverse candida]. I think that one takes 4 to 6 months. It is raw vegan and avoids all grains and fruits and things like mushrooms; however, the book does have a number of recipes that can be used.

You are lucky you are not taking these antidepressant and anti-anxiety drugs. I did for 15 years and I was suicidal nearly every day and back then they did not know it affected some people like that. I also read they can cause permanent brain damage.

I highly recommend you read the books by Dr Peter Breggin on the dangers of these drugs first..some of the titles of his books are toxic psychiatry and your drug could be your problem (etc) available at amazon and many libraries

http://www.amazon.com/s?ie=UTF8&rh=i%3Astripbooks%2Cp_27%3APeter+R+Breggin&field-author=Peter+R+Breggin&page=1

Read the following books to help with your depression and/or anxiety

1 feeling good

2 change your brain change your life

3 7 weeks to emotional healing

my allopathic doctor recommended the last two to me and I think they are excellent books.

They give cognitive, behavioral, nutritional and drug steps to take to help yourself.

Also for anxiety consider herbal aids like organic kava kava tincture and rescue remedy

here are many other things that might help

http://www.holisticonline.com/Remedies/Anxiety/anx_home.htm Anxiety--general info

http://www.holisticonline.com/Remedies/Anxiety/anx_herbs.htm herbs for anxiety

http://www.holisticonline.com/Remedies/Depression/dep_home.htm depression various types of alternative health modalities that help etc

http://www.holisticonline.com/Remedies/Depression/dep_herbs_1.htm herbs for depression

they have other classifications of depression and treatment here

http://www.holisticonline.com/Remedies/Health_Problems.htm things to do for various types of depression

Be sure if you decide to take any herbs for anxiety or depression to take them in the form of tinctures and not capsules as capsules are not easily absorbed and tinctures are absorbed bypassing digestion into the bloodstream.

Be sure your tincture is organic or wildcrafted as these are 7-10 times higher in the phytonutrients and phytochemicals that cure and prevent diseases.

Capsuled herbs are pretty much useless.

I can tell you Candida overgrowth doesn't exist. It was invented by quacks to sell books. The most obvious part of the scam is the diet they recommend makes no sense whatsoever to anyone who has a modicum of knowledge about the human gastrointestinal tract.

It seems you've been scammed.

Hi Charlie. I cannot speak to the issues of your specific symptoms but "leaky gut syndrome" has a large body of scientific evidence supporting its existence. Quackwatch is NOT a legitimate source of information, and should always be considered with a "jaundiced eye".

Here are a variety of scientific papers on leaky gut. Note they are in a variety of medical journals and written by medical researchers from all over the globe. Leaky gut issues may play a role in a wide range of chronic diseases including heart disease, autoimmune diseases, depression and chronic fatigue.

It is important to understand that a leaky gut is a product of something. To effectively treat it, the underlying cause must be identified and treated, as well as the specific issue of the gut damage.
