Question by bunnybob21: can having a vaginal yeast infection cause oral thrush?
I just got over a vaginal yeast infection last week, after taking diflucan, as prescribed by my doctor. It is gone, but now I have formed this thick white coating on my tongue that looks like thrush. Could having a yeast infection recently caused my mouth to now be infected with yeast? Is it possible that there is still yeast present in my body?
Best answer:
Answer by VinceUnfortunately, once you have any kind of candida overrun, you are susceptible to getting them again, and it can affect any part of the body.
Studies have shown that 80 to 90% of people have yeast present within their bodies. For most people, it is present in the intestine. Many women have it in their vagina. The vast majority of healthy people will never have an issue with yeast, as the immune system keeps it in check.
However, changes in the body, which can be something as routine as a hormonal change, can cause the body’s resistance to candida to lower. This provides an ideal environment for the yeast to grow.
While I cannot diagnose you, the symptoms you have described are indicative . . . → Read More: can having a vaginal yeast infection cause oral thrush?

Question by Bride2Be: Yeast Infection symptoms with slight abdominal cramps: Any help?
Never had a yeast infection but I think I might have one now but besides the original symptoms that have been happening for a week I have developed a slight abdominal cramp on my right side. It is not constant but noticeable. Are these symptoms related? Is this a yeast infection? (Itching, burning, discharge)
Best answer:
Answer by mlgableThe itching would be severe and the discharge would be a clumpy cottage cheesy type discharge, You obviously have an infection of some kind but without running tests there is no way to know what it is. Go to urgent care or a walk in clinic and get it checked out. It could be spreading since you mention abdominal pain at times.

i have two small bumbs near the anus area..what over the counter drug can i use to get rid of candida please help………i already been to the dr last year..

Answer by SionFirst off stop wearing tight fitting pants and panties that hold the moisture against you causing infection to grow. Wear a long skirt with a cotton underslip, this allows for air to circulate and keep you dry.
second increase you Vitamin C intake to 3000 mg twicwe a day until this clears up
Vitamin C is one of Natures safest and best workinf antibiotics there is and costs less then expensive prescription rpoducts.
The number one reason women suffer from yeast infections is the wearing of panties and pants that retain the moisture and heat that encourages infectious growth.
Also do not drink coffee, tea or alcohol as stimulants will increase the problem and not allow it to heal.
Coffee. tea and alcohol deplete the body of Vitamin C, on of the most important nutrients of the body.
Sugar also will increase the spread of infections and viruses and they feed off . . . → Read More: i had vaginosis last year an got treataed, it caused candida what can i use to get rid of candida?

Treatment of Intestinal Candida Symptoms
Intestinal Candida Symptoms are usually caused by Yeast Infection which is a fungal infection of any of the Candida species, of which Candida albicans is maybe the most typical.
Yeast organisms are always present in all people, but are usually stopped from overgrowth by the other natural microbes in our bodies. At least 75% of all females will experience intestinal candida symptoms or Candidiasis at some point in their lives.
The Candida albicans organism is present in the vagina of pretty much all women and usually causes no issues. However, when it is getting out of balance with the other normal flora, e.g. lactobacilli, an overgrowth and intestinal candida symptoms can result.
Using oral contraceptives and some antibiotics, and diabetes mellitus can cause an increased incidence in Candidiasis. The commonest intestinal candida symptoms are itching and irritation of the vagina and / or vulva, and a whitish or whitish-gray discharge that can have a ‘yeasty’ smell like lager or baked bread.
Home cures for candidiasis include the consumption or direct application of yogurt, which has lactobacillus, a ‘friendly’ bacteria that kill yeast.
You can use acidophilus tablets or salves, and even gently crushed cloves of garlic, which . . . → Read More: Treatment of Intestinal Candida Symptoms

Question by j: What are the symptoms of Thrush? Can you only have it in one breast?
My right nipple is sore, and bright red, it also pokes out A LOT. I’ve had some shooting and dull pains in it as well.
My left nipple goes flat except when she is nursing, she has a hard time latching on at times, but it doesn’t ever hurt like the right one does.
My daughter is 4 weeks. My nipples were both cracked, and the right one actually bled, at first, but after using Lanolin cream and a nipple shield it healed, so I stopped using it.
Best answer:
Answer by jenjfrostDoesn’t sound like thrush, sounds like an infection! You should call your doc!!
What is thrush?
Thrush is a yeast infection that causes white patches in the mouth and on the tongue. Thrush is most common in babies and older adults, but it can occur at any age.
What causes thrush?
You get thrush when a yeast called candida, normally found on the body, grows out of control.
In babies, candida causes thrush because babies’ immune systems are not yet strong enough to control the growth of the yeast. Older people get thrush because their immune systems can . . . → Read More: What are the symptoms of Thrush? Can you only have it in one breast?
